Idea for Final Prject

I've been thinking about making a beat/music out of videos on the internet.
More so I'd like for it to have to the with a show on MTV called Teen Mom 2.
One of the girls moms on the show has a really annoying voice, and the way she says different words is funny.
So I was thinking about taking the media off the internet, hopefully using keepvid.com and making it into a music/beat type thing.
I have never tried to make a mix video like this, and I have Final Cut Pro 10, which is different from 7, which is what I'm used to working on, so, I'm not sure exactly how it will work, if it will be easy or difficult.
I haven't looked, but I'll try and see what type of footage I can get online.

Final Project.

DIY 4k + Final Project

4k is a huge size with crisp images.
You can create your own 4k by using 4 different sets of footages. Tile images.
Stop Motion animation.
I'm not sure if I want to work with 4k because it seems to slow my computer down alot, but I could do it easily with my DSLR.
Upscaling can work, but might not be he best idea.
March 6th, work in progress to show in class.
Finals due week 9.

Day 2 3D Critiques

Team black::
The glows lights were cool, I think they looked cool because they moved so fast, so you couldn't see any ghosting.
Another effect I really liked was when they put the glowing finger tips on the dancer. I thought it was successful. The 3D portion showed a little more because the dancer as on the plane and the glowing finger tips were infront of the plane.
But I don't feel like the music coincided at all with what was going on in the images, other than the techno and the glow finger tips coinciding a little bit because they are both in raves. But even the hand gestures and dancing didn't go with any kind of beat to the music.

Team A:: "Replica"
The colors are really awesome in 3D. I felt the strongest shot was during the scene with the wine glass full of yellow water and then they drop in the blue and red. That scene was extremely successful in 3D and was quite awesome.
The music went very well with the scenes. It was very melodramatic and it just fit perfectly with the slow motion of the water and colors swirling around. Also it may have been kind of cool for them to play around with the reflections from the glass, because sometimes you can see a little bit of movement from the reflections. Or that might make it more distracting.

3D video critiques Tuesday the 21st.

Team ::
Used fire and water. Elements.
Colors were enjoyable, but I wish they had been poured into the jar in a way which have changed the color of the water slightly. Ex. They used orange and blue to pour into the big jar first, those colors together make a gross color.
The candles were a more interesting scene, visually and musically.
Depth was easily scene.
Not supposed to use white in 3d.
Sound worked well, but could have used some b-roll, instead of having just the notes out of nowhere.

Team Batman::
Idea: Hallway, converging points. We tried to keep the main person in the convergence plane.
Critique:
Ending was strongest part. A little ghosting and instability.
Nailed the theme. Good job at keeping the convergence.
Not have so many repetitions. Consistent humor.
People like the zombie idea.
Scenes composed very well.
Could have been animated. Reminded her of Doug. Reminded someone else of 500 days of Summer.
Audio: Good, light hearted.

Editing 3d in Vegas

Sony Vegas is not our friend. The previews were very choppy and made the video look like it was stop motion.
Sometimes vegas would even stop playing the preview even though it looked like it kept going on the little que area.
We are trying to get the music that Andy made to put on the video. We aren't completely sure, at this moment, how to delete the audio from the footage and use something else. But I'm sure we will be able to figure that out.
Aaron understand Vegas more than the rest of us.
We are now trying to flip the image because we want Aaron to look like he is continuing the same way. We want it to look like he keeps walking through a bunch of hall ways and we only filmed it one way, so we are trying to flip the video the make it look more like what we want.
So now we are hoping that flipping the video will not mess up the 3d. But we will need to try it with the 3d glasses.
Vegas is not a fun program. It takes forever and I like Sony, but dear god.... I bet they have other 3d laptops that have more ram and stuff that make them go faster. They probably just gave UCSD really slow ones that they decided they were ok with parting with.
We are going to also add text for the title. We want it to be on a certain plane so that it doesn't hurt eyes in 3d.
Rendering take forever. Oh the joys of rendering and how interestingly boring it is. Yay for rendering!
Flipping it apparently messes it up. It made the background look like the foreground and it was really weird. So now we have to flip it back around, which kind of sucks.... But whatever.
Now we are trying to import the music that Andy made.
We had to use my computer and put the music on a thumb drive because the 3d laptop would not download it. We don't know why, probably because the computer was too busy running Vegas.
But we got the music on the 3d laptop and put it to the video, and it goes really well together.
Our video is pretty good. It looks like we will finish within class time!

Filming in 3d

Filming in 3d is very interesting because you have to set the point in which everything is flat.
As we filmed our video Andy set that point.
We tried to make it so that as Aaron moved, the camera stayed the same distance away so that things infront of him were close and then as he passed them it went into the deeper background.
We had people (Kendall, me, Clarence & Clarences girlfriend) pop out of other hall ways and bump into Aaron.
We took 3 different shots so that is looks like Aaron is continuing down hallways.
In each shot something is a little different and then at the end, after putting up with all the crap he's doing to the people he's passing, they start to follow him cause they are pissed off.
I believe our project will turn out pretty cool. It probably won't be Sony material, but it's still awesome to work in 3D and try it out.
Using the bloggie is alot of fun as well. We incorporated the bloggie by having Aaron carrying around the bloggie and using it at the same time as we shot using the 3d cam.
Now it's time to edit using Vegas. I'll write another blog about that,
